They are produced in Australia and Japan and made in Hainan Province, China. MABE mother-of-pearl is a penguin shell from the Great Amami Island of Japan, and it takes 4-5 years to grow.

The uniqueness of MABE pearls lies in their formation process kind. The pearl grows in specific seawater shellfish, and the pearls are formed on the inner wall of the shell by artificially implanting round objects and finally cut off when harvested.
